HOUSTON -- When No. 25 LSU and No. 22 Texas A&M meet in the only college football game on Thanksgiving day, both teams will be looking to cap the regular-season on a positive note after disappointing and inconsistent years. With eight wins, a victory by the Aggies could help them nab a prestigious New Years Day bowl game. Our guys are aware of it, coach Kevin Sumlin said. Without a doubt we still have opportunity to win double-digit games. Very few teams have that. Thats what most important. In order to do that cant look past Thursdays and say that. Focus still remains on Thursday and trying to be 1-0 this week.A win by the Tigers (6-4) could help interim coach Ed Orgeron keep the job full time. LSUs players have been clear about their support for Orgeron, who took over when Les Miles was fired in September. This Thursday, obviously there will be a lot of different motivations and I dont think itll be hard to be motivated for this game because you want to get the bitter taste of a loss out of your mouth, fullback J.D. Moore said. You want to play for coach O whos willing to take the whole blame of an entire team on his shoulders even when it may not be entirely his fault. So its easy to play for a guy like that.Texas A&M will look for another big game from defensive end Myles Garrett , who had a career-high 4 1/2 sacks last week against UTSA. It was the first game Garrett has been healthy after struggling with an ankle injury for several weeks.LSU quarterback Danny Etling knows hell have to watch out for Garrett, who is predicted to be one of the top picks in the draft if he declares.Hes one of those players who is a special talent, Etling said. They have a good defense as a whole but hes obviously what stands out on film and has made a lot of plays. They use him to kind of disrupt some plays in the passing game and hes a good pass rusher. But in the running game I think hes shown that he can play on all those different downs ... hes kind of an all-down defensive lineman who can make a lot of plays for them all over the field, he said. Some things to know about the LSU-Texas A&M game:FOURNETTES STATUSLSU star running back Leonard Fournette has an ankle injury that may keep him out of Thursdays game. Fournette has been slowed by the injury for much of the season and Orgeron said earlier this week that he was day to day and that he was very sore. Orgeron said it has been tough not being able to have him at full strength for the majority of the season. It was something we had to deal with, Orgeron said. We won three games without him being there. He came in and had a great game against Ole Miss. Wed love for him to be healthy.CLOSING IN ON 1,000Texas A&M RB Trayveon Williams needs 44 yards rushing to become the first true freshman in school history to rush for 1,000 yards. Williams had 80 yards rushing last week and has had three games over 100 yards rushing, including a season-high 217 yards rushing in a win over Tennessee.IN THE MIDDLELSUs defense took a considerable hit when senior starting middle linebacker Kendell Beckwith went out with an apparent left knee injury against Florida. The 6-foot-3, 247-pound Beckwith, a clear-cut NFL prospect., has been LSUs leading tackler with 91 tackles, including six tackles for losses, a sack and fumble recovery. He was also the leader of the front seven, if not the whole defense. While Orgeron downplayed the long-term seriousness of Beckwiths injury, he ruled him out against A&M. Donnie Alexander, a junior from New Orleans and former Edna Karr high school teammate of Aggies receiver Speedy Noil, is slated to make his first start for Beckwith.FOCUSED ON FINISHINGAlthough LSU only scored 10 points last weekend against Florida, it wasnt because they couldnt move the ball. The Tigers racked up 423 yards, outgaining the Gators by 153 yards. Etling was 14 of 26 for 204 yards without an interception. If not for their failure to get more than a field goal out of their last four times inside the Florida 10-yard line because of a fumble, botched field goal and gal line stand, the Tigers might have won last weekend. We put up a lot of yards, we executed our game plan and unfortunately we shot ourselves in the foot when we needed some big plays and especially inside the red zone, Etling said.---AP Sports Writer Brett Martel contributed to this report. NEW ORLEANS -- Devonta Freeman practically wore out the Superdome turf with one long gain after another, Tevin Coleman wouldnt be denied near the goal line and the New Orleans Saints hardly looked like the team that made an emotional homecoming nearly 10 years ago to the day.Cheers turned to boos, and many fans filed out early.Coleman rushed for three touchdowns, Matt Ryan passed for two TDs and Deion Jones returned an interception 90 yards for a score to help the Atlanta Falcons beat the winless New Orleans Saints 45-32 on Monday night. It was real fun. Everybody was doing their job and everybody was playing for each other, Coleman said. Everything clicked, and we got it done. Its a real big win for us to beat this team here. The game coincided with New Orleans celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the Saints memorable return to the Superdome on Sept. 25, 2006, 13 months after Hurricane Katrina. But there would be no reprise of New Orleans dominant and emotional 23-3 triumph over Atlanta a decade ago.The Saints depleted defense struggled to slow Freeman, who rushed for 152 yards and caught five passes for 55 yards. Coleman also was effective in the passing game out of the backfield, with three receptions for 47 yards to go with his 42 yards rushing. We have to stop the run better, Saints coach Sean Payton said. They were over 200 yards in situations where you knew the run was coming, even at the end of the game.Ryan finished with 240 yards passing for Atlanta (2-1), which did not turn the ball over and moved into sole possession of first place in the NFC South.Drew Brees put up his usual big numbers -- 376 yards and three TDs passing -- and hit tight end Coby Fleener seven times for 109 yards and a TD. But Brees tipped pass that resulted in Jones TD return early in the fourth quarter gave the Falcons a 45-25 lead that proved too much for New Orleans to overcome. The loss dropped the Saints (0-3) to last place -- a far cry from their 3-0 start in 2006.JONES RETURNJones had NOLA written on his cleats as a nod to his hometown of New Orleans..dddddddddddd. The rookie was only 11 when the dome re-opened after Katrina. He wound up with a pivotal scoring play in his first pro game there. It was a great moment for Deion Jones, right here back at home, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. That was very personal to him.SPECIAL TEAMS BLUNDERA cruel irony for the Saints was the way they lost the early momentum on -- of all plays -- a Falcons punt. A decade earlier, the Saints seized the early momentum on Steve Gleasons punt block that was recovered for a touchdown. On Monday night, New Orleans had raced to a 7-0 lead and forced a punt on a sack, only to turn the ball over when punt returner Tommylee Lewis was run into by teammate DeVante Harris. After the collision knocked Lewis to the ground, the ball came down right near him. As it bounced up, Harris tried to grab it, but it bounced away from him. It was recovered by Atlanta on the 11, setting up Colemans first TD.Its a terrible play, Payton said, citing Harris specifically. Theres two mistakes -- runs into the returner and then tries to pick the ball up. Its bad.HAMPERED JULIOAtlanta star Julio Jones played despite missing a couple practices during the week because of a sore calf. He did not make his first catch until the second half, on the sixth pass of the game intended for him. That play went for 16 yards and was his only catch.RUNNING WILDThe Falcons gouged New Orleans porous defense for 217 yards on the ground, highlighted by runs of 48, 36 and 26 yards by Freeman. That took a lot of pressure off Ryan, who praised his offensive line. Our offensive line was outstanding across the board, Ryan said. Anytime you get over 200 rushing yards, your offensive line has played well. Those guys did great.INJURY REPORTFalcons: Receiver Mohammed Sanu left with a shoulder injury and did not return.Saints: Guard Senio Kelemete left with a right leg injury.---Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Cheap Adidas Hockey Jerseys Wholesale College Jerseys Cheap Nike Basketball Jerseys Cheap Football Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Baseball Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Nike NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Authentic Cheap MLB Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Soccer Jerseys China Cheap NCAA Jerseys China Stitched NFL Jerseys Cheap Custom Jerseys China Cheap Basketball Jerseys Authentic NFL Jerseys China Cheap College Jerseys Wholesale Football Jerseys ' ' '
